So I leave for California from Hawaii for Christmas for two weeks. Since I got my bike about a year ago I've been riding almost non-stop. I never thought I would need a battery tender, even for the two weeks I was on leave, but of course I was wrong. Come home last night only to find out she won't start. There was enough power to light up the display and even crank the starter, but not enough juice to start the engine. Needless to say I had to jump start my motorcycle, and I also invested in a nice and reasonably priced battery tender!
Depends on the bike, but even my Streety with its tiny 8AH battery is good for about a month. Do you have an alarm or any electrical accessories fitted? The tiny drain from an unswitched USB socket was enough to take it down in a fortnight when I forgot about it.

Nothing on the bike. Maybe just a bad battery or the heat of Hawaii while it sat in my garage.
That's odd because I have not rode my bike for 2 and half months until yesterday when the weather was dry and nice. Needless to say, the bike started right up after many freezing mornings, and no start ups.
