Anecdotal only, but the last time I came off I slid quite a distance with my face in contact with the ground. Damage to the helmet indicated that without a full face I'd have lost part of my lower jaw and one eye.
Actual damage was zero . At least I think it was zero, but the neighbours kid ran away screaming when I offered him a sweetie lol.

I wear glasses btw. Not a problem.

Sounds nasty (the bit about the neighbour's kid).
Yeah the glasses thing is doable, but just a fiddle sticking them on trying to squeeze past the lining and jabbing your ears. But probably (no statistic needed here) less hassle than trying to chat up the girls without a lower jaw. And soup at lunch would just be a mess...
I always wear glasses since I need them to see worth a damn. Its not really that hard to just slide some sun glasses on wearing a full face if you do it every day, you get used to doing it pretty quick.
I dont trust those modulars at all but a lot of people wear them around here. Usually the yuppies and tards on goldwings but thats most the bikes around here lol. Back when I smoked some dumbass at the gas station asked me for my ID when I was wearing my full face. He asked me to "flip my helmet up". I told him it doesnt work that way and walked out with my already paid for pack of camels with him all confused.
my current helmet is a Bell Vortex. i actually had to remove the cheekpads and remove about half of the padding from the sides in order to accomodate my glasses. with the original padding, it pinched them against my temples.
