All seem happy and excited, Lorenzo was in for a shocker after day one and openly admitted that he has to seriously adapt in order to get along with his new bike.

Also, no incidents and complaints about the tires whatsoever :wink2:

Testing is just...testing and nothing but a slight indication before the season opener but it's good to see them rolling again.

So the rain did us the favor and we watched an amazing race!

I was there when it rained back in '09 but it happened again so my friends better quit calling me jinx :grin2:

Rossi was majestic and he could definitely win if he wasn't blatantly disadvantaged by starting tenth due to the cancellation of the qualification. His tires were shod in the end he chose to wait for a mistake in front of him.

Congrats to Maverick, he showed patience and maturity but his offensive maneuvers also showed some inexperience, he didn't fall though and got a well deserved victory.

Dovi was also awesome and clean as always, he did everything right and made Lorenzo look like an amateur.

Lorenzo couldn't exploit the huge top speed advantage of his bike and was even overtaken by rookies. If it wasn't for the many crashes he would have easily finished fifteenth or even lower. It seems that he tries to adapt the bike to his style instead of the opposite and this led to ridicule at a track where Ducati works perfectly. And of course his shitty personality was already evident in his garage with loads of negativity and whining :|

If Rossi clicks 100% with his new bike soon enough we will enjoy an amazing season with Maverick, Marquez and him :smile2:

Yes, congrats to Vinales. He kept his head down and did the business. Dovi and his Duc really like that track but Maverick did what he had to do. Glad to see Marquez off the podium. :D

Ianone battling at the front was good to see but as I watched the race I knew he was going to crash, same with Crutchlow because that's what they do. Great ride from Rossi. I was a little bummed to see him fall off at the end but 3rd is a great finish considering the weekend he was having. Top 6 finish for Espargaro and the Aprilia is quite impressive as well.

I'm thinking Lorenzo knows it's going the be a long season.

Another good race in Argentina albeit a bit spoilsport for Rossi fans but way worst for some others.

Marquez pulled a Zarko and his immaturity deprived us of a real battle for the top spot. Mav was again fast, mature and very consistent, he passed Cal, who was fantastic, when he needed to and took a well deserved victory.

Rossi again played the bluff game during all practice sessions but in qualifying was as fast as Vinales and everybody knew that he will fight at the front come race day. It seems nevertheless that he is indeed not 100% confident on his new machine and it was painfully obvious that he could overtake Cal anytime he wanted but chose to do it near the end of the race and settle for second despite posting almost identical lap times with Mav throughout the race. I think he really needs to fight for wins with Vinales after the next race which is Marquez's favorite venue.

Pedrosa of course managed to fall too, in the one race that he could outscore his team mate, and Lorenzo was nowhere all weekend, still trying to ride the Duc like a Yamaha. I don't see him riding that bike faster then Dovi, who was taken out AGAIN, even after adapting his style.

Good riding and nice battles throughout the top ten too. Marquez is already at -37 from the top and I predict more crashes in the near future as he will be pushing 100% for victory. Also Rossi will launch his attack from Jerez until Assen on tracks that he excels so I expect even better spectacle :grin2:

MotoGP.com used to have lap-by-lap times for every rider but they don’t any more. Viñales ran quite a few laps in the 39s so it would have been interesting to see if he could have reeled in Marquez had he not gone down.

Crutchlow did well to hold Rossi at bay for as long as he did. Cal said he had a problem with some warning light on his bike. Race announcers kept talking about Rossi not being able to get a good feel from the front end of the M1. He was quite pleased with his 2nd place finish. I didn’t see that coming based on the weekend he was having. That’s a big 20 points.

I hope Lorenzo isn’t whining about going down because that was all on him. Iannone did nothing wrong.

Good to see the Tech 3 riders making some noise.

Maverick totally had him as Marquez himself acknowledged that he wasn't really pushing when he crashed. Catching Marquez is one thing and passing him another of course.

There was a rather impressive, shockingly consistent on-screen lapboard with Maverick's times near the middle of the race.

An ok race at Austin finds an all washed up old timer leading the championship by six points despite a ridiculous time penalty!

Lol, imagine what will happen if he starts winning, they will start giving him penalties because his boots are too yellow :|

Marquez was untouchable again, he owns that track and they should name it after him. Pedrosa offered weak resistance to both MM and Rossi and he would have easily finished fourth if Mav was in the race so typical no.2 rider race from him.

Maverick's armor showed a few ****** when he realized that he can't match Marquez's pace after FP 4 and with his needless antics during qualification. Add a bad start to the mix and you have a recipe for crashing. Shit happens for everyone of course, and I need to see some real battles for victory to make a full judgement.

As for the fake 2015 champion he showed his great fighting spirit again, from fourth in the opening lap to ninth with no answer to five overtakes despite his top speed advantage. Even Iannone managed to pass him and Dovi is just destroying him for the moment, more than double the points despite a DNF for which he wasn't responsible.

Anyway, it's shaping good for Jerez where Rossi won easily last year. Can't wait!

I just found out that Marquez and Vinales are basically enemies from the past and they don't even greet each other:

https://www.gpone.com/en/2017/04/24/motogp/pernat-vale-now-you-need-to-win-too-not-just-settle.html

"The two who argue are clearly Marquez and Viñales, who have been sporting nemeses from the time they were small, they don’t even greet one another in the paddock. Theirs is a battle that continues to rise, as does the bar"

Guess who is going to profit from that in the long run >:)

#24 ·
An all Honda front row for tomorrow's race. Dani is looking strong and so is MM. Yamaha doesn't seem to be able to match the pace. Rossi from 7th on the grid. Lorenzo seems to be coming to grips with the Duc but Dovi is struggling.

#25 ·
Wow, the race was strange!

Yamaha cocked it up and handed Lorenzo a podium finish while throwing away precious points.

Zarko was the man of the race and at last Pedrosa finished in front of Marquez for once so congrats to him.

The balance seems to change and and Rossi is still leading the championships without a single win!

If Yamaha improve around Honda favoring circuits we are on for an exciting season but if not...then it's bye-bye Marquez.

P.S. I just realized that if Vinales had won with Rossi second, Rossi would be one point ahead instead of two :Hmmmm:

Rossi said he had major grip issues and Viñales said his rubber in the morning warm-up was great and he thought he could compete in the race but then his front tire for the race was junk. He said it was the same feeling he had when he crashed at Austin. He couldn’t elaborate much because he said he’d “get an email” from Michelin. What I don’t get is, how did the Tech 3 guys make it work but 25 & 46 couldn’t?

Great weekend for Dani, congrats to him. I’m glad he beat Marquez. Can Lorenzo keep it going? Zarco is fun to watch.

#27 ·
Yeah, good job Michelin wtf?!

I can't get how an army of engineers and two top riders didn't see that coming too, so I am obliged to blame the tires.

Rossi had crazy vibrations and Mav was braking 30m earlier, I don't think that's achievable with anything else than square wheels set-up wise :|

Unfortunately Nicky Hayden was hit by a car while riding a bicycle near Rimini, Italy :frown2:

Apparently he went through the windscreen of the car and his condition is very serious with multiple fractures and possible brain damage.

Please pray for Nicky, a motorcycling legend and overall amazing person...

#33 ·
Are you f*#cking kidding me??? Oh man, what a race. Dammit!!! I wanted Rossi to win but you have to hand it to Maverick, he is a hell of a racer.

Not a good weekend for Marquez which is fine with me.

#34 ·
You know I am a Rossi fan so I must see the bright side of things :p

Vinales's last lap was his fastest and grandpa was right there with him fighting after a full race distance!

Had he made it stick it would be a championship deciding move but that's riding, from +7 to -23 in half a lap :frown2:

Rossi was again too calculative, he was faster from lap one but he decided to let Zarco play with Maverick and pass him near the end. I am sure that he could win this race like he won Jerez last year and he'd better start disappearing at the front when he has the chance and focusing on winning races instead of picking up points.
