What are the best winter gloves? It is getting cold up here. I do fine in it except for my hands that always freeze and make me have to quit early. I would prefer the warmest gloves, but also would like them to have some dexterity and not be 5" thick.
As long as there's no ice I'm riding. Hell, 40-50 degrees is about average around here so that feels normal. I'll look up those tourmaster gloves. Thanx!
The mask does not move too much...only your eyes are visible. I have to pull the nose part back up sometimes. They do work great with earbuds, mine sit snuggly in place. I do recommend some nice shades as well, this will block most of the excess wind from the opening. I slip the arms of the shades inside of the mask. I have two pair of Harley shades that have the foam padding on the lense, these help out alot.

When you put a 'mask' on, then slide your helmet over it.. does the 'mask' usually stay in place or is it going to be a pain in the ass to adjust so that you can see once you've got the helmet on? I can already see people laughing at me..
Mine moves when I put the helmet on. After the first couple times of wearing it, you learn how to predict how much it will move, and position it correctly so it slides in to place when you put the helmet on.
I'm already using one in the mornings sometimes. A cold front came in last week and it was down all the way to the 50's in the morning.. Born and raised in Cali. so that is freezing to me!
EDIT: You can get a balaclava at any sporting good/hunting store as well as Targets and their likes. You'll probably get much better options searching these places.
Hey, trig...here's an idea. When you install your spooner and 43hp chip, you should also make a ninja mask for the front end of your bike, and put that on too. That'd be bad ass. =)
I was looking at those also, have you received yours yet? I would like to ride into work when it is in the 30s because it will normally rise to mid 50s in the afternoon but the mornings are just so cold. I'm curious as to how well they perform.
MSF instructor mentioned using latex gloves under your regular riding gloves for those cold days. I have not tried it yet.
having said that it was 50F this morning and although my hands were cooler than usual I did not have any problems
That and it's just plain uncomfortable. It'd keep your hands warm-er, but they'd sweat inside the latex wether it's warm or not, just because it can't breathe. Bleh. Icon makes a good winter glove called the Barrier glove (or made...not sure if they make them anymore, it's been a few years since I bought mine). They work REALLY well to keep your hands warm, but they're not very dexterous. I could control the throttle/clutch/brake without issue, but it was tough to hit the turn signal without honking the horn.

i haven't ordered them yet, i am hoping to try a pair on first, i feel like the Large is too short in the fingers.
And as far as my Balaclava, it has a fairly large face hole. I position the lower lip of the hole under my nose, that way when i put my helmet on, it pushes it down past my mouth, so my mouth, nose, eyes are all exposed. if its really cold i will keep it up higher to cover my lips.
