looking for somebody to help out with riding

Hey guys/gals:

Just got a bike last weekend and have not had the time to rid it during the week. Planned on riding it this weekend, but only one problem...... first time riding and need some help. As a first time rider I am a little unsure of riding especially for stopping and starting and turning.

Just looking for someone to give a helping hand. Would like to ride tomorrow (Sat 8/7) if possible.

Actually need to know how to ride pretty well (at least be able to ride on major roads) by the end of next weekend. I am suppose to head up to PennState and meet with some people.

I know Need4Speed..... (Matt) has offered to help me but that is next weekend. Matt, I am still up for that.

Just need some help this weekend, one so that I can go and get gas and actually take the bike to a place to get it inspected tomorrow.

I live in the Coatesville, PA 19320 area so if anybody is around I would appreciate all the help I can get.

Thanks.

P.S. Trying to get the bike to CycleMax (Rt.82 and Rt.322 HoneyBrook, PA) for inspection on Saturday.

Wow rgninjazx6r hate to say it man, but sorry you are going to get flamed for this. I understand that you are looking to learn how to ride, but have you taken a saftey course? Do you have any gear? A 99 as a first bike I don't think is a very good beginner bike (other may disagree), sorry [xx(]. Just don't want to see someone as close in this area to get seriously injured. I would be more than happy to help you ride, but not until you've done an MSF course or something just to help get you started.

Spin:

Yes I passed the PA MSF Course on 7/17/04. I have a helmet, gloves, eye protection, boots, etc.

Just feel kind of weird riding by myself, just need someone to help me out at first.

Thanks.

Oh well sh*t then sorry man hehehe...Sounded like you just got the bike and didn't have the slightest clue what it did hehehe. Well I am trying to get down to OC tomorrow but if I don't do that (waiting to hear what Senfo's plan is) then Id be game for a ride. Hmm...How far are you away from like Hanover & York area?

Edit: Oh wow I just found out where you are...little far for a midday ride for me. Sorry man. Maybe if we get a group ride going sometime.

I felt the same way when I first got my bike. My riding buddy was a friend with a Harley, and that kinda kept me from attempting any stunts or stuff like that. Might be worth looking into. Def do not get some crazy guy to help you.

[:+1]! Make sure it is someone that won't get frusturated quickly, just incase you don't feel quite comfortable at highway speeds etc. You don't want someone riding at what would be their "normal" pace and you trying to keep up; just doesn't end up well...

rgninjazx6r, seriously, do yourself and your bike a favor and absolutely do not ride with a group until you're comfortable. If you're not up to riding on the streets yet, take her out to a parking lot and practice. Groups tend to cause people to ride beyond their comfort level.

I like NinjaRider's advice on riding with a Harley guy (assuming he's not a stunter).

Edit: By the way, I'll be at the beach this weekend so if you want to wait until next weekend, I'll see if Spin would mind taking a trip out to help you out. We'll have you dragging knee in no time . By the way, I'm kidding, I don't think either one of us has ever dragged a knee on open roads.

Unfortunately, tomorrow is no good for me. But I do live pretty close (King of Prussia). Maybe we can work on something for Sunday.
