venom will defend what ever he is sitting on till the cows come home...it could be a turd on a popsicle stick and he would claim is the best thing on the road...
That was my actual first pick; however Since I am fresh noob rider many many did not recommend it for my first bike-anyhow I am still set on this model in a year two or three - no matter I will have it

I'm thinking the same thing. I went and sat on one today. Super nice!!!
Extra 50 lbs of weight and higher 1.2 inches in seat ht. is not a trade I would want to make. Now if I could have the power at the same weight and seat ht. as the 650r, I would jump on it. I like the idea of a powerful, light, comfortable and more upright seating position like this bike has. This looks like a good bike for the more experienced, taller and larger rider. 6 feet/220 lbs would be perfect I think.

6'3" and 220lbs here
650 is just Ok for me; feels bit small but it definitely has power to pull me with my backpack

I absolutely love my 650. I had a layoff of 25 years and this bike was perfect for me to enter back in. I'm just curious about the 1000. 50 pounds is not much weight to add for a 400 CC increase! It's not 1.2 inches higher in the seat. It's only .6 inches taller. Hardly noticeable. I'm 5'10'', 200 pounds and it feels perfect.
Think I just talked myself into it. LOL.
Next year.
