Default zx10r vs r1 vs gsxr1000 specs

i was wondering how does the zx10r fair against the r1 and gsxr1000? which one is faster? which one has the most power? which is best in handling? i was just seeing if getting a zx10r would be a good challege to the r1 and gsxr1000. just seeing if i was to upgrade from my 636 to a 1000, which would be the best fit. you may say, it depends on how you ride.... well my riding style consists of mostly hitting up turns, but there are the occasional high speed runs. so... let me know what you guys think. or send me a link with this argument.

you talkin about the 08's, or just in general? wait for the mags to have their shoot outs, then you will get your answer. it really just depends though dude.... its more rider than it is bike. im a kawi person, so it doesnt matter to me which one is putting down a little bit more power or weights a few pounds less. if i had to get a different bike though, it would be a suzuki. iv never really been a fan of yamaha or honda.

When it comes to literbikes, unless you're a racer, the difference between them is not as important as how the bike fits you. Go sit on each one of them, test ride them if you can (or if you have a buddy) In that class it really comes down to personal preference. Of course, the zx10 is no slouch and will probably have the strongest engine

Be sure to read 3 of 4 different magazines as they usually all seem to pick a different bike lol. Like the boys have said, most of us won't come close to using a 1L to its full potential so buy what u can afford, like & seems most comfy. They're all damn powerful & fast compaired to your 636. U really can't go wrong with any FI sportbike made within the last few years.

pick whichever one looks better or fits u better. if ur not a racer, the other factors dont really matter. they're all fast.

if it was my choice, i'd probably choose the kawi. owning 3 now w/o any major problems has made me put a lot of trust in 'em

I'm a kawi man too!! But Suzuki is the "Chevy" of the bike world. Easy to find parts, easy to make faster, and every one works on them!!! I know a couple of performance shops that hate to see a kawi pull up. They claim they are harder to work on.

honda bikes are bull shit and and the 09 r1 was raved in reviews. Its truly a nice machine. Most mgs and reviews if not all said r1 was top dog. it would be which one fit me best. r1 or zx10

In Australia the ZX10R and the Firblade have been beating the R1 in the magazine reviews.

Before I bought my 10R a couple of months ago I spent alot of time researching all the litre bikes out there to decide what was best suited to me.... almost bought an R1 but the 10R scares the shit out of me while having the best fun and I'm more then happy with my choice.

My previous bike was a GSXR 1000 K3..... awesome bike to ride with more then enough power. But the 09 ZX10R feels like a 250 in size compaired to the GSXR. The power of the 10R is alot stronger and quicker then the older K3. I had spent $2000 on upgrading the suspension on the GSXR, the 10R felt 10x better then the GSXR from the moment I got on it. I am surprised by how much quicker I am in the corners now and will be hitting the track in a couple of weeks to compare times from previous rides.

Like everyone has said, ride them all to see what you find best. Thats what I did and was pleasently surprised with what I learnt.

Sutto
