Zx10 Vs Zx10r?

I had some asshat at work want to start an argument when he saw my bike sitting outside at work tonight.

He started talking all this smack (completely unprovoked) about how he used to have this ZX10 that was all hoped up and ran 9's and my 636 is a slow piece of crap. (whats he smoking? lol) I asked him if he meant it was a ZX10R and he said no it was a ZX10, I thought he was talking about some sport tourer but he swore it was a sport bike although he couldnt tell me what year it was when I asked him LOL

He's obviously full of crap because he doesnt even know what year the bike was but I was wondering something..

DId Kawasaki even make a ZX10, or are they all ZX10R's and if they did was ait a supersport or a sport tourer?

TECHNICALLY yes: Although I'd be willing on putting money down that it couldn't keep up with a modern 6r

Ninja 1000R (Produced: 1986-1987)
Ninja ZX-10 / ZZR-1000 (Produced: 1988-1990)

If the guy couldn't tell you the year model his supposed bike was, there's a good indicator is either full-o-shite and/or just trying to get under your skin. I too say he's jealous. When people try to talk crap about bikes, I just smile and say, "ok buddy...if you say so."

Most violated KF rule: 2. - Post titles should be descriptive of the contents of your post. i.e. "Help with fuel injectors" instead of "HELP!!!!"

Thanks for the info Vex.. this little but of info will be really nice to have Personally I dont really care about this type of thing. If I meet someone with a faster bike Im more incline to ask then how they like it and talk about the the subtle differences between models. But its always nice to have ammo against these types of dick heads.

BTW, I actually sat and watched your entire sig once you have to much time on your hands, funny shit though LOL

OnCam your probably right.. I dont understand people like that. I have a hopped up car also (was making it into a auto- X car but gave up for awhile and its my DD atm) and although I never challenge people with my car or my bike... for some damn reason people always tend to get up in my face like I insulted there mother or some shit and they insult me and my car / bike for no other reason then to make themselves feel better about thier own crap. Why cant people just be cool LOL

So they never made a ZX10, but they did make a Ninja 1000R from 86 to 87 wich evolved into a ZZR1000 from 88 to 90. Its kinda funny that he swore that it didnt have the letter R in its name and both those do LOL. He said he had it around the year 2005 wich proves he's full of crap also since that was only 5 years ago (he cant remember?) not to mention he doesnt even remember when he had it.

Thanks I appreciate it... I ran a search for ZX10 and only came up with ZX10R's where people left the R out when they typed. I know my bike isnt as fast as a ZX10R but god damn its still fast as hell LOL. I told him that modern 600 class sport bikes are way faster then he thinks, are actually comparable to there 1000CC breatheren, and the difference is barely a second at a drag strip and he didnt know what the hell he was talking about... man did he get pissed LOL

This is way OT but for you entertainment (that is if you care) i'll shove the info Vex gave me in his face if he says anything again and let you all know how bad he backpedals... I really dont screw with people, but when they ask for it and deserve it, well its game on

Larry, your right... and if he keeps up I'll do that, but why miss out on an opurtunity to have some fun with an ass hat thats asking for it but if he doesnt say anything again ill let it be.

the ZX10 was quite an animal in it's day. my brother bought one new in 1989.
it was considered a sports-tourer back then & i seriously doubt it could run with a modern 600 supersport...
