Identify engine by engine number

Hi there. I've just bought a kawasaki engine for my 7 racer (small race car) from a person whom I trust. It's supposed to be a ZX10R engine, but the engine number is ZRT00AE006116.

I find it a bit funny that the number is zRtXXXetc instead of zXtxxxxxetc.

Is this a ZX10R engine or not? Could anyone also tell me which year it is?

Thankful for all replies.

Cheers, Movikong.

Thank you very much for your reply.

I may be ignorant, but how did you find that? I've tried googeling, with no success.

I removed all the numbers after the AE, because that would just be the number of the engine produced in line... everything before that is the actual identifier

Thanks!!!

I don't think I can use this engine... it has far less horsepower than an ZX10R.

If anyone would come up with further 'evidence' that this engine is an Z1000 I would be happy.

Also call your local Kawi dealer and I bet they can tell you exactly what model that is, perhaps it is a zx10 motor after all

Where on the block did you find the numbers? I'm trying to identify my engine and can't find the numbers.

On my engine it was on the top of the clutch housing/oil reservoir (right side when looking from behind). It is written/stamped on a flat surface near this area.

You may have to take off some panels in order to get to it.

Good luck! Movikong.
