I have a 03 636 and it's making a weird whistling sound while accelerating. It doesn't do it in neutral or when u let off the throttle. Has anyone else experienced this?

Are you sure its not the wind whistling against your helmet or bike, cuz it happens to me sometimes when my visor is up

Yea I'm sure because it's only when I accelerate. If it was bike or helmet it would do it all the time. It sounds like a George jettson mobile. The chain seems good. What could it b with the chain? It seem to do it louder at lower RPMs

could be a loose connection on your throttle bodies to the air box.

Valve clearance maybe? Im pretty sure that's what the kawi shop down the street said its related to

My 2004 does that too. a clear whistle that sounds like its coming from the front end but if im going fast it either stops or i just cant hear it. i thought it was the intake but im not too sure. dont ever have any performance problems and i think it sounds quite cool so it doesnt bother me at all. sounds like a turbo whistle or something :-) If you find out what it is though, do let me know.

ive just had a full service so i really doubt its the valves

does it not do it if you're at steady revs? if im just plodding along at low speeds it does it continually

Might just be an intake whistle. An audio/video clip would be helpful if this is worrying you.

Take it to were it starts to whistle, clutch in hit the kill switch and see if it still does it. If it continues to whistle then u could eliminate pretty much anything to do with the engine.

Make sure to then start the bike again haha.
