Hi everyone,

I've been away for a while but hoping you guys cn help me.

I'm unfortunately having to part with my ZXR750J2. I've had a look on ebay and trader and the values/prices seem to vary massively.

Can anyone assist me with a realistic value for my J2?

K reg, 26k miles, spent a good deal of its life sat at the back of Honda dealership after being part ex'd and never moved on. I bought around 6-7 years ago and put it back in service around 3 years ago - the MOT i put on was the first time the bike had been on the computerised MOT system the guy told me.

I,loved it back to work after so long out of action, wheel bearings, seals, rebuilt the forks with all new bushes and sels, brake and clutch lines, new pads all around, caliper seal kits. Removed the silly micron exhaust and replaced with a full delkevic stainless system, removed the carburettor jet kit and put back to standard which made it a whole lot sweeter - balanced carbs to within an inch of their lives - I spent literally hours, I wanted it perfect. I did perhaps other stuff too but that covers the most of it....I dont think its covered 1000 miles since returning to road. Also upgraded the rear shock to the ZX9 unit with remote reservoir and better adjustment - I was sick of playing buckaroo !! NEw tyres too....battlax I think multi compound I seem to recall.

Any ideas? I guess its however much or little someone wants to pay...are they still going up in value should I hold on to it if I can? Its the claret red colour scheme, black frame...paint isnt immaculate with a crack nd poor repair to front fairing but I wanted to keep the originality of it. A few spares to go with it, chain sprockets, carbs general accumlated stuff like filters and plugs.

Many thanks everyone

In the US for 1 zip code, the average retail value is about $1,000 for the ZXR750.

Yours seems above average mechanically, and a little below average cosmetically.

I would probably ask for US $2,000, and if it does not sell quick enough then drop the asking price. Most buyers will wait for good weather from April to June to shop for a bike.

Also consider doing some body repair and repainting before selling it. Maybe use a plasti-dip type spray paint that is low cost and helps fill in scratches.
