well im really bored right now so i'll throw up some pictures from my +4 ignition advancer install this past weekend. bought it from solomotoparts.com, factory pro ignition advancer for about 55 bucks.
its a pretty brainless install, only different thing i did was the manual said you had to drain the coolant and all this bs but i just sat the reservoir on a bucket all hooked up next to the bike.

basically heres all you gotta do:
1. take off the coolant reservoir, drain it if your paranoid or just do what i did
2. take off the cover (brake side) to get to the timing rotor, you might have to bang on int a few times after the screws are out to get it to come off
3. put a box end wrench on the timing rotor and then use an allen wrench to remove the bolt. the whole rotor will begin to spin a little bit if you put too much force on the wrench but that wasnt a problem for me
4. remove the timing rotor and replace with new one, theres really only one way it goes on so you cant really mess it up. but align the slot on the backside of the rotor with the notch where the old one sat
5. reverse all the above steps and youll be good to go

i cant comment on how it improves performance yet because im still in the process of doing bodywork and i havent rode the bike since last october, but ive heard nothing but good things.

+4 (instead of +1...ha, anyways...im a loser)

these things are awesome. other than removing body panels to get to it-its been the easiest performance mod ive ever done to anything (air filters dont count-you cant feel a difference like you do with the +4) after i put mine on it feels like it want to rip out from under me after 6-7k, then a stage 1 jetkit and filter screen removal picks up the front wheel just a little bit now. but bang for the buck-you cant beat the +4

hmm.. i need to do a bit mroe research.. i'd love to do this mod, but i don't think it'll be effective with boost.. i was thinking of making a plate that the coil bolts to and is slotted, that way i can advance or retard timing to my liking instead of having a fixed value.

eventually when i get the EFI shit figured out, i'll probably use a PCIIIr and play with timing that way, but until then.. i'd love to build up a nasty N/A motor.. this one now might see boost tho if i can get shit squared away.. maybe only a few pounds.. no more than the maz wastegate setting, but still.. i dunno.. we'll see.

im tryin man, im tryin. i havent ridden in almost 6 months. if not for the weather id be done with painting this week and on that bish in a second. since the weather isnt cooperating im just gonna be stuck doin nothing. and i gotta go back to school next week. hopfully it'll be nicer out over easter break in mid april, otherwise ill have to wait until school gets out in may to finish up.

Yep, you need to retard the timing when you put the boost on... You could also do this with the Dyna 2000..

Damn. I love shit like this. These mods that give the 7R even MORE power.

I'm thinking of sitting on the tank with a backpack full of bottle rockets and a candle... I 'm pretty sure that it would have the same effect on me as an advancer would...
