been a while since i updated this.. mainly because i haven't had money to do anything.
i swear every time i mention a job i end up losing it, but i work at a machine shop now.. so thats pretty sweet in regards to making cool shit happen now. i started back on the EFI stuff as well. got a rotor machined out and have tuner studio on the computer and have been trying to learn it. (more on that in the EFI thread.)
i plan on machining some flanges soon. i am trying to design an adapter as well for running the K03 and TB22 on V bands without having to weld the V bands directly to the turbos. the v bands are actually a bit pricey! i think like, $84 a piece.. i can DEFINITELY make them with EASE on a lathe... the only thing i'll have to buy is the actual clamp.
i still don't really know what i want to do with this. i'd LIKE to have a common flange.. i will most likely put a ko3 on for fun to see what it does and what i have to do to fueling.
oh i got ANOTHER ko3 now.. an ugly one off a jetta that isn't too far from needing rebuilt, but it was free. i just re-read this entire thing.. turns out i got a TON of free shit!
anyway.. between learning some new tricks for cleaning stuff and just some stuff in general, i will hopefully soon rebuild the TB22 and have it ready to go on. gonna try the ko3 first since it'll spool sooner and will help me nail in tuning a bit lower.
hopefully i'll have this thread at full blast again in a few weeks or months.. maybe.
that shop i used to work for with the dyno folded up, so i will sub that out.. i think i have an angle i will play. .i will be recruiting the help of local tuning shop Carolina Dyno, who specializes in cars.. they want to adapt their shit to work on bikes.. so maybe i can trade something for some dyno time and tuning help.
iiiiii dunno. i'll figure something out. i also became massively addicted to road course riding.. so i spent much of the past summer at the track. the LSR thing will probably happen just for a record and then the bike will be used to piss people off on the street.. and MAY see some twisty track action for fun.
so many things are up in the air and have changed.
i know one thing.. the passion i had for spinning wrenches at the beginning of this shit is LONG gone now.. now it's more of a job. lol which sucks.. thats also why i no longer work on bikes for a living..
