i agree, if i could do it all over, i'd sell the zx9 and buy a zx12 or something with off the shelf turbo parts available
custom pistons cost way too much, almost 900 dollars in my case, off the shelf turbo pistons for a "common" bike are half that, custom plenum, custom manifold, custom this custom that gets old really fast. i don't have stuff needed to weld stainless or aluminum, glad i have a friend with a shop
i thought I was gonna spend a couple grade, yeah right, that budget was burned a long time ago. i could have went cheap and used rubber hoses and clamps everywhere but i don't trust fuel and oil to rubber and clamps, its a bike, a leak could cause my death.
I have new respect for those drag racers with the multiple stages of nitrous with regulators and AN lines and fitting all over the place, I don't even have a lot of lines and fittings and i still spent a ton, as much as 30 dollars for one small fitting, if i could go back i'd send my money to mr turbo and be done with it, let someone else deal with the headache, either that or like i said, i'd buy a zx12

It's the combo sprocket i have, front : 16-17-18 rear 38-41-44. The bigger front sprocket you can use is 18 on ZX9 and it's very tight. I installed on my bike, but i never ride with 18, soon. I never found 19 and it's will be to big for the front sprocket cover.

Real Speed at 12000 rpm
16-41= 182 mph
17-41= 193 mph
17-38= 210 mph
18-38= 220 mph
This is the speed at 12000rpm. But i don't know if you know all bikes have error on the stock rpm ? For the ZX9 the error at 12000rpm is 400-500rpm. When your tach show 12000, the real rpm is 11500rpm. And for have real 12000 rpm, the tach will be show 12500rpm.

I made some work on my bike between 2 rides. Last year, i built a straight exhaust. But, i don't cut a hole in my lower fairing. I bought a new oem lower fairing and i cut a hole in my old lower fairing for my straight exhaust.
I will ride with the straight exhaust only for race. It's too loud for me. Coming soon, i will do a roll race with a corvette supercharged (+700whp) and a GSXR1000 05. The corvette guy tell i can beat a 1000cc bike. We will do some race, the first race Corvette vs GSXR1000, second race Corvette vs my ZX9R Turbo and third race GSXR1000 vs my ZX9R Turbo.
Now some pics for show the result of my straight exhaust on my bike with lower fairing.
Straight exhaust welding
Little polishing
Final result
