ZX9R Turbo winter upgrade (Stretch)
Hi,
I working again for upgrade my ZX9R Turbo. I stretch my bike with bolt on extension swingarm (3-7inches). This setup will be for race with higher boost 14-15 psi on pump fuel. With this swingarm extension, i will may use all gears until the red line without than the front wheel lift.
I installed my extension, but not finished. It's just for see if the parts are ok and if it's fit good. I would like to know what is the good torque for the bolt on the swingarm extention ? Because it's use kit and i don't have this information.
Also, i search a use ZX9R 02-03 swingarm with axle, shock, link and complete rear brake all in good condition for fit my extension.
This is some pics and i will post more pics when i will progress

MAN.. i love the stretch, but i'm not a big fan of bolt-on stuff.
it just scares me.
regardless, it DOES look awesome!!
nice.
couldn't tell ya a torque.. maybe 50 ft-lbs? i'd go til it feels good n tight.. maybe use a mild strenth threadlocker on it just for fun..
good luck!

it's definitely a billet piece.
whether its 6061 or 7075 and if the temper is T4 T5 or T6 is up to the spec sheet!!!
T6511 6061 aluminum has a tensile strength of i think 48Kpsi
7075 when tempered to T6 is 120Kpsi!!!
only thing is, you can't weld 7075. you CAN weld 6061.. so if one were to buy bolt-on extentions with the idea of welding them and permanaently affixing them to the stock swinger, they'll be sorely dissapointed if they were crafted from the aircraft-grade stuff.
and so ends your tiny metallurgy lesson for the day.

I bought the extension swingarm on Ebay and they can support big horsepower. Because, i know a guy run 300+whp with swingarm extension without problem. I will run with extension for race. I don't think run on daily ride.
