Anyone interested in an old 87 ZX600 Racebike. It was a one year only Limited Edition Aluminum Framed model. The frame was the Japanese Ninja 400 with a 600 engine in it. It has 89 GSXR 17" wheels & Brakes, a Fox Twin Clicker Shock and front suspension mods, Watari Rearsets. The motor is pumped: 14:1 compression, ported & polished head, bigger valves, Moriwaki race cams, Mikuni Flat Slide Carbs, etc. MSD Ignition box. It was a full superstreet (600 superbike). I took the head off to replace it with a stock one (to lower the compression) and replace the rings but never got around to it. No number on the frame. I bought this frame at the track from another racer after I wadded up my steel frame. I have the title to the original frame that may be used to re-assign numbers to register this. I also have all the stock parts. Would make a Great Vintage class racebike. It was very fast and powerful in the day. The engine builder stated it produced 105 HP.

It was a fun ride Might make a great trackday duty bike Just trying to get a feel from others with the first generation ZX600's. Anyone else have a tricked out 85-87 one??

I had an 87, it was red white & gray, i loved that bike it was my first ninja, I don't remember if it had the aluminium [ I'm not sure if i spelled that right?] frame, I did not think they made the aluminium frame model for the street until 88? I do have photos.
