ok, I noticed that one of my slides won't lift. and also when I quickly rev it I can see the fuel mist in the other cylinders but not the thrid one with the non functional slide. I tried moving it manualy but still no mist.. wonder what this could be

if you remove the black plastic cap, you might find that the perimeter of the diaphram isn't in the groove...they can swell and be tough to keep in the groove when you put the cap on. Th diaphram itself is pretty tough...I've never seem a ripped one...I've seen them with a pin hole from improper assembly pinching them...
if that slide wont move then the diaphram is leaking , small o-ring is gone or cracked, or the slide cover miffed.
since he doesn't mention the model, on the F-models the CVKD's have a little brass orifice tube whose absence that will cause the same slide problems as a missing BDSR o-ring.

Like Jbreit said, I have ("rarely" - not never) seen a ripped diaphragm. Usually they get stuck in the slide from build up a and residual shitty gas. I remove the slides and polish both the slide face, guides, and the slide bore with aluminum oxide, then clean them, lube them, and reassemble them. The move like hot butter afterwords.
Thanks for the info guys, I ended up having two problems at once and after I got the stator problem fixed it still ran like shit.(sounded like 3 cylinders as you said). I took apart the carbs and found a diaphragm with a rip in it and have one ordered. Hopefully this is the last of my problems for a while.
