Default ZZR600 Top Speed

Anyone know what the expected top speed is on a stock ZZR600. I am seeing some people claim around 175 MPH and some people saying thats impossible. Anyone done a top speed run on a ZZR? I am talking top speed meaning there was literally 0 speed left to gain even after a minute or so.

mine does 180 lol

you can't trust stock speedos and the geering doesn't allow much over 155 if i remember right( the gearcalc program seems to have vanished). stock gearing, diameter of the wheel, rpm and reduction ratios can't lie and a wind behind isn't gonna do that much.

non stock sprockets and geerbox on a good day downhill and you'll probably get 200+ if the wind doesn't blow you or the fairings off

The top speed of the kawasaki ZZR600 is around 140 but the max speed is 240, so you can ride upto 240 ...

From personal experience I know that with -1 +2 gearing it will pull to redline in 6th gear which should be right at 164mph. It would go faster with different gearing but prolly not by much.

IRONJUNGLE.COM

cool, it still exists

Primary reduction ratio
2.022 (89/44)

Gear ratios:
1st 2.923 (38/13)
2nd 2.062 (33/16)
3rd 1.631 (31/19)
4th 1.380 (29/21)
5th 1.217 (28/23)
6th 1.083 (26/24)

Final reduction ratio 2.666 (40/15)

for the J1 - i'm not sure the exact rear tyre size so best to measure as they are all different

60% of 170mm in inches is approx 4 - (3+3) + 17 x 3.14 = 72 inches

so absolutely flat out 14,500 rpm redline in 6th equals 169mph with 60mph at approx 5100rpm (13500rpm is about 157mph)

-1/+2 = 14/42 = 150mph redline.

Max power is supposed to be in the 12,500-13,000 rpm range so around 160mph with stock gearing. check it out here. Gearing Commander: Motorcycle Gear Ratio Calculator for Sprockets RPM Speed Chain

seems many zx6's defy the laws of physics

+2/-2 or 17/38 is over 201mph but the little 600 motor and 90's aerodynamics would never get there

About 160, same as most other 600s.
