did someone knife my tire? wtf

Does this look like a knife slash? My bike was sitting in a parking lot at work (same place for almost a year now) and the tire was flat last night when I went out to go home. I would for sure know if I hit something that big to do that much damage. I called Progressive earlier to see if that will be covered under comprehensive coverage. PLeassse be. How retarded would you have to be to slash someones tires just b/c.

Shitty deal... when you have the tire removed you should see if there is anything inside. If someone slashed it with a knife they may have hit your rim or broken part of the knife off in the process? I agree about the security tapes.

You should try to recall if you cut anyone off, if anyone was annoyed with your bike being loud, or anything of that nature. Statistics prove that it'll be someone who was pissed at you. Lots of crazies out there.

lol the bike equivalent of slashing one's wrists(feet? since it is the rear after all)

Sorry bout your luck dude, hope it all goes smoothly and since its straightfoward vandalism im sure its covered, i doubt they will say its a normal occurence for a tyre to commit suicide like that, or that you would slash a perfectly good tyre...

plus one on checking for security tapes in your parking lot any evidence would be great...heck when you remove the tyre check for any evidence inside and bag it while wearing vynil gloves and all! And yes ive watched too much CSI...

So no help from progressive since the price of a tire doesnt even come close to my deductable. No cameras in my parking lot at work. Looks like Ill be getting a new tire in the next few days. Im hesitant to park it at work now though... I even have a custom alarm system with a shock sensor and a wireless alert to me inside work, only problem was that it wasnt enough movement when they cut the tire to set off the sensor. -jacob
