Can I put the transmission from a 2001 ZX6R into my 98 ZX6R? And is there a guide for swapping transmissions out?

Anyone have an answer? Will the transmission guts at least be the same?

Any one know if the rear master cylinder from a 03+ will fit the 00-02?
looking at the pics, they look sooo close
but I'd hate to order one, and find out it was still off a little bit

thanks

Default Master 98-02 Swappable Parts List

R the 03/04 & 05/06 636 Front Brake Calipers/Lines and Master the same?

R the the 03/04 zx6r the same as 636 Front Calipers?

R the 05/08 zx10 zx10r Front Calipers the same as the 03/06 636?

I got the 03/04 636 forks and just would like to know 05/06 636 and zx10r or zx10 will work.

Default Vortex Rearset (98-02 zx9r on 02 zx6r)

So I found a killer deal on a set of vortex rearsets for a zx9r. I saw on the first page that they are the same as the ones on the 6r and will swap ithout a problem. My question is: has anyone done this? I did notice that the woodcraft rearset has the same part# for the 9r as the 6r but I wasn't sure about the vortex. Any feedback?

I going to use the 03/04 front forks and need some info here.

To use your stock rim you need the corresponding spacers.

? So I can use my 99 front wheel and spacers?

Wheels, they will bolt up with the correct spacers as they are pretty much identical EXCEPT THE FRONT RIMS HUB IS WIDER, AND REQUIRES THE 05/06 ROTORS AS THEY ARE NOT OFFSET AND THEY ARE THE CORRECT DIAMETER FOR THE BRAKES

?So I my 99 front wheel is wider then the 03/04 front wheel. I just need to use the 05/06 rotors? or do I need the 03/04 rotors?

I got a collar from here from a member for the triple tree and it was wrong on the id size & hight. It was lose around the triple tree (22.5mm) & too wide (16.5mm) for the upper so I made this chart for the Triple Tree Collar and Brake Spacers so anyone looking for some spec can save & print this out and take it to a machine shop. If you can read the chart here is the size > Tree Collar is OD 28mm / ID 22mm /H 15mm ... Caliper Spacers OD-24mm / ID-10mm / H-10mm

Adding this link here so it may help about the brake mount mod or spacers for the zx6r 98/99 or zzr600 05/08 if you don't use the 05/06 636 rear wheel. This is one of the best post with pic that I found for the swingarm swap.

03/06 clip ons are NOT swappable to an 00-02 like some one stated on the first page. The fork tubes are different diameters (duh). If you swapped forks and are using the appropriate clip ons with them, the align holes will not match. Electronics, you can just break the tabs off as they are not really needed. But using the 05/06 clip ons (with forks) on my 00-02, a new hole has to be drilled for the throttle as the angle it puts the wire will prevent the throttle from turning.

I hate false advice
