Bike misfiring...

Yesterday when I was riding to a local coffee shop, I noticed while at a light that my bike wasn't right. It seems that one of the cylinders is mis-firing. Btw, this is on an 2000 ZX-6R.

I've had a somewhat similiar problem before and it turned out to be an ignition coil that was dead. But, in that situation the cylinder just wasnt firing. Right now, it seems to fire up once in awhile..

So, in an attempt to do a quick remedy I replaced the spark plugs. Now, the problem has had an improvement, but its still mis-firing.
Usually at the lower-mid rpm range. When i'm on the freeway the bike seems mostly ok, power is there. But, maybe im just not noticing it.

Any ideas where to proceed here? The last thing I want to do is take it into a shop. I don't trust the people and my funds are _very_ limited right now. Insurance, taxes, rent increase oh yah!

Thanks for any help!

You don't thrust a Kawi dealer?.Humm...what have you got to lose besides money by taking the bike there?.They will fix the problem right or you won't take the bike.It sounds fair to me.Fixing it by yourself yes is alot cheaper if you know to fix it but you if you knew you would be here to ask question about it?...right?.Wich cylinder is missfiring first?.Is a missfire or a fuel starvation.Locate the faulty cylinder and start by replacing the spark plug.If that won't do it then go to that coil and coil connections, plug cap.Check the spark intensity on that cylinder and compare it to the rest of the plugs.Check all the connectors going to the igniter and pick coils.Fuel starvation is a different matter but can give you similar problems. If is a fuel starvation then check that particular carb, jets and fuel flow. You will be buisy....4 a while I know.Good Luck [8D]
