I use this stuff on my locks. Its silver liquid. My buddy has some expensive stuff he told me to get, but the $2 shit does the trick.

I used wd40 for a while but that no longer works for me. I think its something wear related, I had seen another post that said that, and that if you can put some pressure on the steering lock piece that goes into the frame it the key will turn easy and come right out. I carry a skewer and it works for me.

yea same here. i'm pretty sure its mechanical. i've just been doing what megarush said. it's working but its just irritating to do it EVERY time you stop riding. new ignition would work. . .but then you'd have different keys for gas cap and to pop the tail. You could always take off the ignition and put something over that to keep it from popping out, but then you couldn't lock the steering on your bike. i was thinking about doing that actually.

Yup happened last week to me also, #!*#@
i wasn't at home and left the key in to the right so light's went off.

sprayed some lube in their, and then some electronic compressed air. now good as new.
same happened the the rear solo seat, had to take the whole mechanism apart and clean and grease it.

seems like a common problem.

Street and track weapon!

I came on to look for this thread specifically. Low and behold it was at the top. I recently went on a 1,700 mile trip on my bike. 500 miles away from home and the lock got stuck at a gas station. I had a locksmith make me a key that will only work for my gas tank by reading the lock.

My key came out when I got home for some reason, but it put up a fight. It still jams up, so I don't trust it. I am going to replace it. I wish I would have thought about the tip to push on the lock part that goes up in my frame.
