My 2007 with 14k miles has been a great bike until recently. The bike will start and run fine, until the coolant temp reaches ~150 Fahrenheit. The idle will be steady, then becomes sporadic before ultimately dying out. It happens every time at the same temperature no matter what conditions it’s under. I changed spark plugs, ignition coils, sent injector cleaner through, nothing seems to be working. I’m still trying to figure out if it’s an electrical or mechanical issue. Any help would be appreciated.
It sounds like you need to adjust the idle speed. The ECU will cause the bike to idle higher during the warm up (until it reaches around 150 degrees). Then it will drop the idle down to the normal speed. So if your normal idle speed is set too low, then it will stall when it drops down from the warm up speed.
