building an old 600 into a street fighter. stripped down and removing things. will it operate without the gauge cluster installed? tried a small battery in it with no reaction except for the horn worked. right now there are no lights hooked up and have found random wires taped off.
i really need a response before i tear in to this bike. i removed the stock cluster. put a battery in it and got no response from the key turned on and the run switch on. pushed the start button and nothing. horn works but nothing else. next i will be jumping the solenoid when i get a bigger battery for it
Yeah first of all you wanna be getting the right battery for the bike so you know that you've got a good starting point!
You then said that you removed the instrument cluster, and since doing that the bike has just gone dead on you, am I correct??
I work nights mainly so whatever you want to know then you'll get the answer the day after I think, but don't worry about this pal we'll have it running in no time mate
I don't know about your specific bike, but I'm currently turning a 2009 Ninja 650 into a street fighter. Instrument cluster is pulled out as are all lights, and it still starts fine.
