Looking for advice on how to make 1st gear even lower

I'm working on a custom project with a KFX 450R Quad engine. I'm looking for advice or help with the project. My goal is to make 1st gear lower, a "granny" gear if you will. I've checked out all the drawings and got a little advice from some techs, however, I was wondering if anybody out there has actually dove into the transmission and changed the 1st gear sprockets. Can it even be done without effecting the other gears? Would appreciate any help......Buzz
