Front tire

Almost 80% of the knobs on the side of my front tire are beginning to rip off. Some to the point of almost falling off..... But there is not much wear on them.
Any ideas what the cause of this could be? I do mostly trail riding and hardly any riding on pavement.

Thanks,

2009 KX250f

what is the manufacturing date of the tire?

1st two numbers are the week of the year (01-52)
2nd two numbers are the year ('09-'15)

if you have a 2009 date then that could be the problem...

So if it were 2009, this would just mean the rubber is beginning to get old and become weaker?

Yes, tires only are good for approx. 6 yrs.

It could also be that you are running a soft compound on a hard surface...
