Need help what part is this?

Recently picked up my first Kx80 1987 and have no real experience. When I removed the seat this black part broke off and cant find what the part is called or if its really even needed. It is a black flange that appears to sit under the seat around the air box. Would anyone know what part this is and a replacement part that could be found? I attached a pic of the part
Thanks to everyone for any info,
Glen

It looks like it's just part of the seat: Kawasaki Motorcycle Parts 1987 KX80-G2 KX80 SEAT Diagram

Maybe it goes on the bottom of the seat somehow.

Thanks Strider007 for the reply.
It felt like at one time it was made of flexible rubber. But over the years was dry rotted and became hard and brittle. When seat in place it appears to act as a way to control air flow with that notch cut out in the diagram. So I came up with an idea to buy a cheap windshield cleaner stick and remove the rubber squeegee part then cut to the same width and notch out according to the parts diagram. Then use RTV to hold in place and seem to hold. Will know more as I go on.
Thanks again
