Hello, everyone. This is my first one since 1984. I wanted a TU250 but the seller's buddy offered me a Ninja with 6436mi for $2K so I thought a carbureted twin would be okay since it was cheaper. There in the shed was the largest Ninja I had ever seen. What was I supposed to do? Run? Probably should have. It turns out that it just needed a master cylinder rebuild, fresh gas and a month long trickle charge. I changed all the various fluids and took it for a first ride yesterday. Absolutely frightening. According to the registration it had been off the road since 2010. I see ( and hear ) bikes ripping around town but I just like to ride places. It sure turns heads. I put the tires at 32psi to slow down the turn in a bit, do you think that's wise? The manual calls for 42. Looking at the posts I'm glad to meet you all, it's going to be an interesting riding season around here.

Hi and welcome you and your beast

Always follow the manual's tire pressure recommendation for street use and, crucially, if your tires are nine years old or even older replace them immediately with a fresh set even if they look ok!

Tires are crucial when it comes to motorcycle safety, especially with 200hp available >:)

Ride safely and enjoy :Bike:

The date code resolves to mid 2011 for both Michelin Power 2CT's. Brand new treads but no sign of oil even on the chicken strips - dry as bone. Kieth Code recommends skidding in the parking lot for practice so I guess they're still good for mosquito abatement. What tires do you run and why? I'm hoping for $400 or less for a set of F: 120/70 ZR17 R: 190/50 ZR17. I'm not ready for 55's yet. Thank you for responding, your advice is much appreciated.
