Help Please!

I just replaced my starter & starter relay solenoid, checking wires & fuses. My 01 Kaw ZX9R is trying to start up whenever I touch the positive cable to the battery🤯I’ve had this bike for a few years & this is a new issue, I have not touched any wiring on it. Please help with info or advice for a solution.

That really sounds like a strange issue to me. Is the new starter OEM or after market? Was the old one not rebuildable?

Got it off e-bay so probably aftermarket, old 1 was the original

I was wondering if the original could just be rebuilt. If all that was needed was a new set of brushes. I saw your other thread so it must not be the solenoid.

I'm more familiar with starters that don't work, as opposed to starters that work all the time, even when they're not supposed to .

Lol, I know right. I’m lost right now, leaning toward wires meshing together from heat or something

I was thinking that as a possibility also. Thought it may be easier to eliminate the new starter as a culprit before unraveling the wiring harness.
