I don't own this model, but with clutch problems, they're usually relatively straight forward. You're going to want to start with the lever and examine until you get to where the wire/hose enters the case. If you're lucky, you'll find the problem there. If you're not lucky, you'll have to open up the cavity and examine the clutch itself. The good news is that the clutch is generally pretty straightforward, but you will need appropriate sockets, a torque wrench, vernier caliper and gaskets at a bare minimum. Not to mention a service manual to tell you what the specs should be on all the relevant parts. I'd recommend either using Permatex gasket maker or a generic paper gasket as the cost of the gaskets on these motorcycles is ridiculous. I'd also be very careful when removing the previous gasket not to damage the surface. I've personally got a plastic tool rather than a metal one to do that.

The carbs are a bit more complicated. You want to pay careful attention to the throttle position when you're having issues as that's going to tell you which circuits to pay the most attention to. Commonly, you'll see carb problems more at low speed and idle as those jets are smaller and prone to clogging. Coincidentally, I'm pulling my carbs out in the near future because of that very issue.

Any more information you can provide about the nature of your problems will help a lot in giving more specific advice. The clutch is definitely something that you can do yourself, it's not that hard. The carbs are a bit more work and require a bit more knowledge to properly address though. Not saying that you can't do it, but realize that you're probably going to need additional tools that are more specific to the job than the clutch problems.
