1992 EX500 will just stalls when riding.

Hi, My EX 500 seems to start fine with a full tank of gas but as it get around have of a tank of gas it will just stalls as i'm riding it , then i will have to pull over and open the tanks cap for a little bit then it starts again help?
i'm not sure if its duel to vacuum lock or a carb problem.

i replaced the petcock because my old one will just let fuel run throw the lines with the bike off then flooding the bike.

Thanks.

Garage
Sounds like the breather is plugged. Blow it out with compressed air.

Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Its possible the fitting or hose is clogged and/or kinked.
The hose feeds down the side to the bottom of the bike.

^ that is the water drain for the fuel cap surround, NOT the tank vent.

The tank vent is housed within the underside of the fuel cap (remove 2 silicone (orange) rubber discs

Remove the cap to perform this on the bench. there is a phillips head screw on the underside of the cap....remove and it will disassemble...simply remove the discs and put all back together as you found it.

Remove these, your venting problems will be solved
