Fork seals blown from the cold/thaw???

I had my 2006 Ninja 650r winterized in an unheated garage. I live in Wisconsin. About two weeks ago I noticed a reddish puddle under my forks, though they were dry to the touch. When I compress them though, I can see an oily film left behind on the fork tube. It's not dripping, but it's there. It's like this on both tubes. The bike only has 2000 miles on it, and I've never wheelied on it, but I know the previous owner probably let it sit for years and years. I have no idea what would make the forks leak, is it possible the seals just went bad over winter/from me driving it a little bit after it sat for years?? Tips? Advice?

Rubber has a way of deteriorating over time, whether it's being used or not.
