This may be a dork of a question but it is somethign i have been thinking about. for these tests do the riders stay in first gear or do they shift up to 2nd?
for the test it seems like it would be easier to stay in 1st if the gears will allow it. i dont know the max speed for 1st gear i'm still staying 5000 rpms

they go to second but they go to about 60 to 70 in first then shift to 2nd which tops out about 110 120 ish

I think first gear, redlined is ~63/65mph before a shift.

I saw 65 in first and it wasn't bouncing off at that speed, so I'm guessing red line would be closer to 70 mph. Stock gearing.

his bike is probly new, but still you can go higher than 5k. go up to like 8 or so. theres threads on this topic. its a bitch to keep the front down if you are tryin to go to the redline in first gear

LOL jhagen!!!!.that would be 0 to 60 FEET..not mph! and the bike is not hard to keep down in first at all...its a 600 for cryin out loud

i've redlined it in first gear but no wheelie. i guess i rolled it on smoothly. it feels like she wanted to but she didn't.

what are your PERSONAL 0-60 times?

never timed it...would imagine its kinda tough to do it accuratly, but id say around 3 sec.
