has anyone managed to track down a steering damper that will actually fit on the 2002 ZX-6R? The ones that fit on the 2001 ZX-6R do not fit on the '02> Anyone have any luck?

Not exactly. The "tweaks" that they did on the 2002 mean that last years dampers don't fit perfectly.

I have a 2002 6R and i picked up a second hand damper not too long ago, fits no prob. It's a Matris. It was originally on a 2000 or a 2001 6R. It's a side mounted one that uses the boss on the frame. It CAN rub agaist the left ram-air cover a bit at times, but I just put a dab of electrical tape on it and all is fine.
