The only reason I can think of that someone who just got hit by a car on their motorcycle wouldn't go to the police or insurance is if they have no insurance/license or are wanted for some kind of criminal offense :lol

That is really strange

what about med bills?

Medical costs have to be crazy high, i assume you had to have surgery?!
it wouldnt be your fault, therefore your rates shouldnt increase, AND the person(s) in the car should pick up your hospital tab. I know in the states we can add "under-insured" to our policy, which basically states if some junk-box without any paperwork to their name (someone hits you and they dont have insurance) your insurance provider will pay for the damages (up to X amount, whatever you agree to) and your rate shouldn't increase...

Medical in UK is free. I am not sure if you get hit byy a stolen car if your insurance goes up though. Doesnt sound right.

Not to mention if the bike is a write-off how much money you lose far outweighs what the hike would be (if there even would be a hike in this instance which I also doubt).

So when 2 years ago I was hit by a hit n run driver, driving the wrong way down a 1-way street(who wasn't caught). I myself was in a mk1 golf that was destroyed in the crash.Went to my insurance everything was sorted until I got a letter saying my insurance premium was going to be increased by 700pound due to a recent accident.
