Is there anyway to check to make sure that the fuel reserve is functioning?

If possible i would like to make sure 100% that it work before i run empty on the tank and then flip the switch to reserve and find out that it doesn't work.

I aint got a reserve...

The pipe for my reserve is floating around in my tank.
When Im out, Im out.

Other then an old thermos full of gas on a small trip across town...
I cant help ya out.

The only way to check it is to run it out and pray

You could carry spare gas or you could pull the tank and drain it from the petcock until the main supply runs out and see if more comes out when you turn it over to reserve. Both those ways are harder though, I have alot of faith in the bike so I just pray it works.
