This is what one guy told me last year...
Your ZX6R will come up no problem in 1st or 2nd gear. The wheelie movie on our site is me doing a second gear clutch wheelie. Just shift into second normally, open throttle all the way, "roll on" when the tach hits about 4500-5000 pull in the clutch all the way and let it out fast. Make sure you hold the throttle wide open. Be careful though, the bike will come up and over fast! If you let off to soon it won’t stay up. Just keep practicing and try not to wreck your bike.

Well doesn't sound like detailed advice to me, I can't wheelie for squat but haven't been practicing either, Its all about feel, also check to make sure how your positioned?, are you covering that rear brake? are you depressing it when concentrating on wheeling it up? Look at every detail. Its different for everyone.
