Yes, you are absolutely right ninja2002, that's why they show '98 to '01 for the ZX600R, and for 2002 the 636R... the pipes (S-K6BO1-C carbon, S-K6BO1-T titanium) will fit the '98 to 2002 NA models.

I was just wondering what kind of power increases i can expect. Alot of my buddies have cans and they all seem to backfire pretty bad on decel. Is this normal and will it hurt the motor at all. It seems like they are running lean.

Most dynos I've seen of endcan-only (ie/ bolt-ons) installs typically increase the upper portion of the rev range a little mirroring the stock curve, but up a couple hp. Don't be expecting 6-10 horsepower out of a bolt on and you'll be happy with what you get, which is increased willingness to rev easy and nice sound, fit and finish.

I think a little popping is normal, sheer backfiring every time you roll off means you got air-fuel mix problems that need to be sorted out.

if you get popping from full on to off then i would go ahead and drill out the caps covering the idle mixture screws. that may help it out and it only takes about an hour or so. get an angle neck drill and go to work. try one turn out (ccw) and see how that sounds/feels.
