Is there a way to adjust the stock rearsets on a 2002? I'm having some problems shifting when I'm wearing my riding boots. During a 40 mile ride through town I had about a dozen missed shifts. I'd like to lower the shifter or raise the footpeg. Can I?

Lowering the shifter is super easy. You just need to pull the front clamp off the splines and reposition it. Only one nut to deal with.

You can also adjust the brake lever, but my bike is covered and it's raining so I'm not going to go remind myself how. :)
