Alright, I've had enough of the stock exhaust and its baffled sound. I was considering either Akaprovic or Micron. The red micron canister would look great with my red bike, but the akaprovic is a more "race" exhaust that claims to put out more hp. I will probably only get the slip on becuase a full system would be expensive. Anybody have either? Any gripes or suggestions?

Regardless of claims to the contrary, slips-on don't add horsepower. Put these claims in the same category as the K&N claims.

The comment about K&N air filters not producing more hp is incorrect. They absolutely make a difference in the bike, just do a little research. Micron will also give you the best performance gain. The micron serpent header is currently the best header pipe available now but not yet available for the 6R's. Check them out at www.hardracing.com So i guess right now Akrapovic is the best!!!

Since you want to get a slip on go with Micron for looks. Akrapovic for a full system, Microns header pipes/mids have too many weld bands and springs, which I think looks ugly IMO. They both are good quality and sound good. Akrapovic systems make more HP than Micron. I've been following the serpent headers since day one, but it will be a while before they are ported to the 6R. Reason being is COST. That which goes towards the R&D. Micron claims that hp is made in the headers not necessarily in the can, words from them. The silencer is nothing more than just that... to quiet the sound. HP generally made from a slip on is more than likely from re-jet. I was debating on Micron or Muzzy. I went with Muzzy full system and Ivans Jet kit because I wanted looks and power, otherwise I like the colored annodized cans from Micron.
