So I just recieved my race railz and axle sliders from powers.

I did not realize that the axle sliders have a long bolt that goes all the way thru the axle.
Is it ok to remove the cotter pin and leave it off so I can install the sliders?
Anyone have any experience with this?

instead of the cotter pin use the zip tie as a 2ndary percausion. Also why did you get the billet one? the derlins are best this type of use.

You think a plastic zip tie would be strong enough?

As for why I got the metal...

I wanted it to match my rails. Is metal really that much worse?

Yes - from past experience, Derlin in the BEST for sliders.

all the cotter pin, or zip tie is there for is to PREVENT the nut from backing off, from vibration or whatever.
but couldnt u just "S" bend the cotter pin, and slide the bolt in. theyre pretty soft metal. i think itd be easy to make it work.

Thankfully i did not have any use for my sato fork sliders...

cmon know whats the dif if your bike is sliding down the road.....i think the billet ones would give a much better spark show at night

Also does anyone know exactally how to mount the silver mushrooms with the slash cut shaft in the last picture?

right on. thats what i was looking for.
that mushroom is for a blind, NON threaded hole.

anyway, you unscrew it aways, push it into a hole(not threaed) and just start to tighten it up. the 2 angled parts pull against each other causing it to get tighter.
its got a knurled head tho, seemingly for hand tightening. where it that supposed to go?

slide the mushroom thing into the end of the rail and tighten the bolt which clamps it in

the small part of the mushroom's shaft doesn't really fit in the rail's hole.
I'm sure I could hammer it in with a rubber mallet but then how would I get it out if I needed to remove the rails?
