i went from 150 to 160 gas milaege a tank on spectro 10w40 oil change to motul 10w40 100%syn and now getting 90 miles per gallon with a kn filter bike has 5,300 miles
i will guess you ment 90 miles a tank?
well if you put in a K&N maybe you didnt hook something up right or,were a victim of the infamous over oiled air filter.
go back and check your plugs...
Rule #1 with K&N get some of that BS red oil off the filter before install.
you changing the oil from brand A to Brand B isnt going to do that to your mileage.
That kind of change is HUGE. Not going to be due to chain slack, tire pressure, oil, some might be due to over oiled filter, though that will make the bike run so rich that if it burns that much gas you will see smoke in the exhaust. Most likely cause is either a change in driving habits or, more likely, bad book keeping.
have you adjusted your idle at all recently? i adjusted mine once a little too high, maybe 200 rpm higher than it should have been and it dropped me 20 miles a tank. went from 140 a tank to 118ish.
I dont know how you do 160 a tank.It never happenede to me.Usualy if I do 145 I am happy.
