Alright, I have a 1996 EX500D... and my front tyre's treads were getting pretty low, so I decided to replace the rubber. Picked a Dunlop 110/18-17, since the existing tyre I had was the same size. So I take the wheel off, take it to a dealership, they mount the new rubber on it and go to balance it and inform me my wheel is bent. Sure enough, there is a nice dent on the side of it. Dealership said they tried to balance it they best they could but it won't balance.

Anyone got any idea on where I can get a decent wheel? There are tons of folks seeing 1993 and earlier wheels.. which won't work on my 96. I don't want to pay $700 for an OEM wheel!! And I don't think there's any way I can hammer the aluminium back into shape, and it doesn't seem real safe to ride around with the front tyre wobbling. (When I'm on the road, I can see the centreline of the tread "wiggling" back and forth, and the brake rotor is straight even with the caliper off, so I'm pretty sure the bearings are fine).

Thanks guys
Joshua

whatever you do DONT try to hammer it straight yourself there are some frame specialist who can possibly straighten it for you but its probably best to buy a new one... ebay?

I've checked eBay but haven't run into a 1994+ front hub yet, but will keep looking. Everyone and their dog is selling wheels for pre-94 Ninjas. I even found a rear hub for a 1994+... I guess most people are wrecking their front wheel when they go down.

OEM part costs $400. I found a salvage yard selling one for $200. A friend got his SV650's wheel straightened for $120, so I figure I'll be out $120-$200 to do this. Just frustrating when you see '93 wheels for sale for $50 or almost new EX 250 wheels for sale for the same...

Thanks
Joshua
