Bigger ram-air;

937 Views 6 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  Lee
I just wonder if anyone has the same consers with me!
I NEED, MUST, HAVE TO outrun my mate and his R1.
Just at top speed.
But I don't want to mess with the interiors of the engine.
So I thought of a bigger ram-air intake.
Anyone who knows someone that can make happy.
Or any other ideas;

To beat the R1 at top speed I have a tried and proven to work solution to your problem... buy a Hayabusa:D

Let Saddam come and play!
It's not just about how big the scoop is, air box and throttle body, etc. are very important. Ram air will give you a few more HP at high speed, no way to beat R1 with just that. You may consider a turbo :D if all you want is to beat that R1. Not sure that it can be done without some major engine work. Too much boost and the engine goes “BOOM!!!”
I'm with eltorito, get a Busa! No replacement for displacement.

Take your "mate" to the twisties. Otherwise, get yourself a big bore bike... you have no hope of taking him in any top speed runs, sorry. You might be able to beat him in the 1/4 if you are a good launcher, but once that thing gets winding out, you're lunch meat.

Monkeys can drive fast in a straight line... take him to the twisty roads.

HEY GUYS, LIKE DJ SAY'S IT COULD BE DONE -I HAVE THE 2002 ZX6R AND BEAT A R1 TWICE, BOTH TIMES BECAUSE OF THEM BEING A LITTLE LIGHT UP FRONT WE WERE BOTH IN THE AIR OF THE LINE ,BUT I GOT A QUICKER JUMP ON HIM,,SO YES IT COULD BE DONE .......:DOFF THE LINE..

Put a smaller sprocket on the rear until you reach past the R1s tope speed. Simple.
But don't expect him to be around when you finally get there. :)
