ok, I was riding to work today and my bike seemed like it wouldn't warm up. The temp gauge said about 160 (normal operating temp), but it wouldn't idle. Everytime I let off choke it would die. I figured it would be OK after about 10 minutes of warming up, so I rode off. I get to the stop sign about a mile from my house and the bike dies as soon as I pull in the clutch. After a few tries it starts back up again, only to die a second time at the next light. It takes longer to start this time. I barely make it into the parking lot as it dies again. I would say it was out of fuel but i filled the damn tank yesterday! any ideas of what it could be? I just rode it home and it was fine. I don't know what the heck it is or was. oh, it's a 2002 with 8600 miles on the clock. thanks a lot

My old gixxer did that, it was still like that when I sold it.
I think the new owner told me he replaced the spark plugs, cleaned the carbs, and changed the fuel filter.
That fixed it for him, I don't know which of those 3 was actually the problem.
