hey guys, i hope someone can give me some advice. for some reason lately, my bike(2002 zx6r) won't start in gear. it will only start in neutral with the clutch out, it won't even start in neutral with the clutch in. i'm thinking maybe there is a sensor that needs adjusted, whether it's in the kickstand or the key switch itself. the bike still shuts off when i put the kickstand down. any help would be great, thanks bj

If the clutch lever free play is too much, the clutch may not release fully. The ignition interlock sidestand system will then not allow the engine to start.

You want a 2 to 3 mm gap between the lever and the lever holder.

I wish we could exchange problems, I have a 99 zx6r and mine won't start in neutral. I hear the starter motor trying to crank, but it doesn't turn over. However, when I hold the clutch in, then it starts. I would also like to add that the neutral switch is on lit also. Also, when I start it when the clutch is it, if I let the clutch go, it cuts off.
