if you just added a bolt-on, its not neccessary, but its never a bad idea.
A bolton is still restriced by the headers and feeder pipe coming into it, so it can only change the flow so much.

I would do it when you can afford it, but it should not cause any HP loss or damage in the meantime.
If you notice some flatspots after its installed, then you'd want to get it done (or if you bike shoots fireballs like my buddies does after putting on a full system) hehe

got a 2001 zx6r put on a hindle oval bolt on pipe and was wondering
if i have to put a jet kit and filter in my bike the bike seems to to
be running fine the pipe was installed 2 weeks ago any one please help.

Rashead, Sweet is it the supersport, If so I have the same,nice sounding pipe for the dollar I love mine.I didnt have to jet or change the filter at all, And It feels and runs better with the hindle rather than the stock.[^]

is it popping on decel or making "backfire" like noises?? Mine does with my hindle bolt on in my 99. I'm going to have to rejet soon. If it isn't maing weird noiss then yuo shouldn't have to
