There's another road here in North San Diego county that starts near Lake Henshaw and goes through the hills and out to Borrego Springs in the desert.It's called Montezuma Valley Rd, or S22. An extremely good road and very little police presence. It would be a good place to switch to if you're worried about cops all the time. Two drawbacks though...hot hot.hot..and a longer ride too, but I'm thinkin about getting up earlier on Sundays and going there for awhile.

could you give a mapquest link or something? i'm not familiar w/ the san diego area, & i couldn't find any maps of the area showing S22 or montezuma....
edit i found montezuma, but the road looks pretty straight
