What's the deal alot of times when cagers automatically speed up? I'm riding to work in the morning, on a state route in the country, ~60-65 when I come within about ~1/8 mile on someone they start to speed up. I then continue to stay behind them going 70-80 mph. in 55. I not doing anything, its like they see someone on a sportbike and there like, he's not passing me even If I wasn't going to? I've had people take it up to 100 before. I just laugh, unless they piss me off then I blow past them.

I know exactly what your talkin about. It's not even on the highway here, i'll go just a tad faster then the car, and they try and go just a littel faster to match me. i seriously think it's subconcious (i can't spell big words) and they dont know thier doing it.

but it's still makes me laugh every time.

I actually got a ticket that way, was going down the causeway which is a straight bridge. 2 Lanes each way, I get stopped by the causeway police because he gets cell phone calls of me going to fast. It was probably people who only wish they could go that fast. Fuckin ****.

People around here do that too. It hink it's the ole, "I am not gonna let a motorcycle pass me type mentality.

Oh well, fuck them. Best thing to do is pass them and not even look their way. Make them think you don't even know they exist.

My experience has been with people speeding up to either match my speed or to go faster than me when they see my turn signal on showing that I'm going to get in front of them. I guess they think I'm going to get in front of them and drop from 65mph to 25?

I've never encountered this, here Most people will give right of way to the bikes, well at least thats my experience with it.

Just yesterday some kid in a thunderbird was goin just above the limit (in a 45mph zone) and i was going just about 5mph faster than him, so i was gradually passing him. before i knew it i wasn't passing him anymore.

after a few moments we were doing 80 on this road (four lane, no houses) and he just kept speeding up. i laughed to myself and gave it a little gas to fly past him, (i needed eventually to get in front) that was the end of it, pretty funny phenomenon.

People getting out of your way? I had to do a double take and after seeing the little Canadian flag it made a little more sense.

I was almost pushed onto a shoulder at 70mph by a Ford Explorer, feeling mighty furious, I smashed my thumb into the horn and let a mighty "beep-beep" ensue. He prompty apologizes by giving me the finger.

Having had enough, I decided to pass and put a few car lengths between him and me.
