Hi

how big a job is changing the camchain tensioner. ie is it accessible from the exterior or does a casing need to be off. does it need setting up to a tension or is it just a case of being fitted. is a oil drain required.

many thanks for your valued help

Very simple. The tank needs to come off. It is on the back of the engine just beside the right side frame rail. You don't need to drain the oil. It has a little one way ratchet dohickey that you push all the way in when you install it. Then spring pressure pushes the foot out to take up cam chain slack. Remember which way it comes out as you can put it in upside down. The ratchet release goes up.

Yes, but when you buy it does it come with instructions?

I seemed to have a hard time getting my tools into that tight location. What tools are required, how long did it take, and how do you know you've done it right? I've heard that if you make a mistake, you must buy a new one.
